Bovine Blood Pregnancy Rapid Test Kit & Solutions

Ringbio bovine pregnancy rapid test kit advantage

Bovine pregnancy length ranges from 279 to 287 days. For most breeds, 283 days would be common. Cows carrying bull calves tend to have a slightly longer gestation compared to cows carrying heifer calves. To monitor the pregnancy status, pregnancy associated glycoproteins are widely used as marker protein. Commercial pregnancy test products are generally based on detection of these proteins.

The Ringbio bovine pregnancy rapid test kit is a new generation lateral flow rapid test kit to detect pregnancy associated glycoproteins, PAG, in bovine whole blood, plasma and serum. Only 15min is needed for the whole testing. Fast and simple! It is a real pen-side cow pregnancy test for farms of different sizes.

HOT This kit now works for whole blood, serum and plasma, and can be used for cow side or on farm testing!

What is the accuracy of this Ringbio bovine pregnancy rapid test kit?

This kit is overall 97% accurate compared with ultrasound scanners in our field testing with over 1000 cows. According to our research and validation, the kit can detect as early as 28 days post AI.

What samples can be tested?

This kit is developed with whole blood, plasma and serum samples. We are still researching the performance with milk sample.

How do I separate the serum or plasma?

Since the kit is now ready for whole blood, serum and plasma sample, you don't need to separate serum or plasma. For blood sample, just collect 2ml whole blood with the EDTA-blood collection tube, then keep the blood at 4 oC for no more than 10 hours if you cannot test it immediately.
For serum testing, you can separate by centrifuge or wait 1-2 hours to let the serum separate naturally.

Can I use this kit to detect urine or milk sample?

No, this kit is specially designed to work with serum sample. Other samples are not applicable.

When should I test the cow?

This cow pregnancy test kit can detect as early as 28 days post AI. That means you can test the cow at 28 days or later. To confirm the test result, you can run the test again 3 days later after the first testing.

Can it be applied to buffalos ?

For not we don't have data. If you are interested and have the resources, we can work on this together.

Can it be applied to goat or sheep?

For not we don't have data. If you are interested and have the resources, we can work on this together.

Does this kit produce any false result?

Generally, any rapid test kit could produce false result. Based on our research, the current PAG test kit produces wrong result only when embryo dies during the pregnancy, this is caused by the high PAG level in serum, which can only go down in extra 2 weeks after embryo died. What's more, if a cow was tested positive before and is tested negative, this could a sign of embryo loss.

I have got very weak test line, what does it mean?

Strong or weak test lines all mean Positive. You can also confirm the weak positive result 7 days after the first testing.

I have tested all cows, then what should I do?

Usually, you should continue to monitor the herd, so that embryo loss, abortion, etc can be observed. Please always make your reproduction program according to your vet.

Have you compared the kit with other commercial test? what about the result?

Yes, we have compared our test kit with other major commercial cow pregnancy test kit. Since all test kits are based on PAG detection, the performances are more or less the same with slight differences. In a word, our test kit is just as reliable as the major commercial test kits.
